We need talented engineers who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the subsea market. We are looking for a Senior Subsea System Engineer who can lead engineering activities associated with all phases of a subsea field development.

  • Establish a strong project team through cooperation with all relevant product teams within Aker Solutions;
  • Set up and lead engineering teams through Field Development Phase, define resources requirements and work delivery schedules;
  • Implement the Aker Solutions internal engineering processes relevant to the phase as required;
  • Manage and report engineering activities within the established budget and schedule;
  • Act as technical point of contact towards Client;
  • Establish relations with technology partners and vendors as required.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Where working within the Front End group the Senior Subsea Systems Engineer shall lead and support all early phases of a development project (Subsea System definition and design; Technology gap Studies; Concept Field Development and Evaluation studies; FEED Studies, tendering, technical sales representation towards key clients).

Where executing the required engineering for the Development stage, the Senior Subsea System Engineer shall support the development and coordination of the system engineering activities associated with the assigned project (Manage engineering study teams; Presentation & interaction with Aker Solutions technical and managerial leadership teams; Create, review and approve system documentation; Coordinating progress reporting of deliverables and execution of task related to verifying and implementing the overall System Design and architecture according to client specifications; Manage and coordinate preparation of concept design, system design, initial calculations and preparations of drawings, equipment lists, etc.).

Qualifications and Personal Qualities

  • Degree in Engineering (MSc/BSc), preferably Mechanical-, Marine-, Control- or Cybernetics engineering;
  • Solid background from engineering, design, construction, fabrication and operation of subsea or offshore oil & gas production systems; Demonstrable understanding of Flow Assurance consideration and how they influence the system architecture and operation;
  • 10+ years engineering experience from subsea or offshore projects;
  • Ability to form and manage agile teams to deliver studies in line with, and above Client Expectations;
  • Decision making ability taking into account multiple drivers. Experience in using Decision Management techniques;
  • Understanding of Offshore Operators’ drivers and economic constraints and how they influence engineering System solutions;
  • Demonstrate understanding of commonly operational activities for subsea systems. Proven experience of successful Subsea/offshore studies and FEED work delivery;
  • Familiar with engineering, procurement and manufacturing systems, practices and processes;
  • Basic understanding of ERP systems and engineering principles; Competent with Microsoft applications;
  • Practical, systematic and analytical; High integrity and ethical values.
