Essential Responsibilities:

The Land Constrained (LC) Grid Integration team is part Application Engineering team supporting new units Opportunities and Projects from ITO to OTR stage. The GI teams scope includes the analysis of grid interconnection requirements and match them with WT electrical and Controls system of our wind turbine products to fulfill those requirements.The broad scope of the team and of this Senior Grid Integration Engineer position provide great opportunity to drive engineering excellence and quality, as well as to optimize the wind product capabilities and to match them with Grid interconnection requirements for different countries and projects.

  • Grid Code requirements analysis and extraction of main inputs to be achieved by Windturbines’ components. Raise gaps of compliance and developments to solve them
  • Define testing plans according to Grid code and reporting results after site testing to demonstrate compliance. Advise of validation/certifications needs as per Project schedule and NPI deliverables
  • Setting Controls parametrization to meet with Project specific requirements, needs of additional soft. Development and
  • Supporting commercial opportunities in EMEA with previous needs and potentially execution activities as back office support for grid engineering topic
  • Support and participation in technical forum with Utilities and Grid stakeholders about new grid requirements and its implementation into Projects

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
  • Significant experience with wind turbine electrical and regulation system knowledge
  • Deep knowledge in international Grid codes and standards, and interconnections process for Power systems into electrical network
  • Familiar with Grid Operators processes for Wind farms new connections and operation needs
  • Use of electrical simulation tools (Digsilent), and electrical modeling PSS/E, PSCAD
  • Positive mindset with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to pull together global teams across functions to drive consensus and decisions
  • Project Management skills, experience and attitude
  • Availability to travel 10% of the time
  • EU Work Permit

  • Wind turbine electrical system knowledge
  • Proven wind engineering experience
  • Field or testing electrical performance in wind turbines
  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving
  • Proven strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, document, plan, and execute multiple deliverables in parallel
  • Flexibility in working with peers from different time zones
