Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting into a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering construction project management and renewable energy advisory services to clients from initial development through to project handover, with onshore and offshore wind farms and solar PV projects being the main focus. The role will be predominantly office based, however it may be split between the office and working on-site during the project construction phase.

A full Job Profile is available on request, however a selection of duties and responsibilities include:

  • Provide and deliver successful project management and due diligence advisory services supporting client and project manager requirements to achieve the required objectives of the services;
  • Undertake technical and contract management support services (including, but not limited to, quote preparation, tender preparation and assessment, planning application discharge of conditions, contract drafting, contract management, grid connection management, health & safety management, due diligence section preparation etc.);
  • Administration and reporting relating to projects, including formally managing meetings with civil, electrical, grid connection and turbine supply contractors;
  • Attend construction sites to carry out progress meetings and site inspections as required;
  • Assess wind (onshore and offshore) and solar PV projects on behalf of lenders, investors, vendors and other project stakeholders;
  • Manage multi-discipline teams of technical staff in the completion of due diligence assignments for clients;
  • Execute activities related to independent engineering, technical due diligence, and advisory projects being undertaken by Natural Power, with emphasis on interdisciplinary thinking and approach;
  • Assist in managing projects, supporting resourcing efforts, and coordinate execution by others inside and outside the Construction and Due Diligence teams with high quality deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering (Civil, Construction, Electrical or Mechanical) or a relevant STEM subject;
  • A post graduate qualification (ideally in renewable energy) or professional membership would also be advantageous;
  • Strong grasp of the overall commercial aspects of the role including client, budget and relationship management;
  • Comfortable in a client facing role where you will be responsible for developing new business and pursuing leads through to confirmed work;
  • Excellent communication skills being able to convey clear and concise information in both written and verbal format to staff, clients and third parties alike;
  • Capable of working as a team and independently;
  • An eye for detail and capable of producing work to deadlines;
  • Strong IT skills, being competent with the Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Hold a full driving licence as some travel will be required on a regular basis for the purposes of this role.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role, ideally working within a Renewable Energy Consultancy; however we would also consider those with experience gained within a consultancy/Construction/Engineering/Contracting business, delivering major infrastructure related projects;
  • Experience with Project Management software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Document Management software would be highly advantageous.
