The Service Value Engineering & Pricing department within the Global Service Business Unit works closely together with both the regional sales business units and global functions to win long term service contracts and support Vestas´ "profitable growth" strategy. Value Engineering in Vestas means to create and apply optimised commercial, technical and financial solutions to secure a competitive position for Vestas and at the same time maximise value and margins for our customers and for Vestas.

Responsibilities

As Specialist, Service Value Engineering, you will bring strong relevant expertise and experience in the Service Industry and have global accountability and responsibility for driving continuous efforts to maximise profitability and optimise the competitiveness of the Vestas Service Business through Value Engineering. You will work with and support frontline sales across the globe and constantly challenge the norm with analytical insights to co-create innovative winning bidding strategies and market business models together with our customers and partners.

This position will have a scope focused on commercial service excellence, where you will use your Subject Matter expertise and commercial leadership in value engineering and pricing across the global service sales organisation to drive deal level and strategic service contract value engineering.

Further responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review significant deals with deviations to Vestas' standard commercial terms and formulate recommendations for risk mitigation and value optimisation
  • Further develop and optimise service sales governance to ensure swift deal execution with adequate risk mitigation considering regional market conditions
  • Actively support the regional service sales business units, for complex competitive environments such as energy auctions, complex energy tenders and forward sales activities
  • Lead interface with group functions on pricing and costing matters as it relates to sales incl. in-depth pricing + costing analysis particularly in a market-based/competitive context, together with leading pricing and deal strategy dialogue in the global community with the sales business units
  • Lead and continuously outline improvement areas/business requirements and interfacing with other group functions in the implementation
  • Further build commercial intelligence capabilities in collaboration with the global and regional service sales organisations
  • Contribute to the development of commercial service sales plans and strategic initiatives within Global Service

Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years of highly relevant energy industry experience, with preference for renewables
  • Master's degree with focus on quantitative analysis (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Economics etc.)
  • Analytical experience/expertise in financial modelling, valuations, corporate or project finance/financial analysis are a minimum requirement
  • Renewable energy finance market experience with development, infrastructure advisory or consulting, project finance or investment banking is a major plus

  • Leadership in your field and must be able to establish influential relationships at all levels internally and externally
  • Strong interest in economics/finance/policy and acute awareness and attention to the energy industry and finance industry
  • Highly analytical with a holistic approach and strong problem-solving skills and quantitative aptitude
  • Demonstrated sharp and structured excel skills are a must
  • Passionate and highly persistent, willing to go the extra mile to deliver a winning solution
  • Sharp technology aptitude, technical acumen and curiosity in the innovation space
