Role Summary:

As CL you will be working in the Commercial Community CE, within the Commercial Operations function for Europe & SSA, reporting to the Commercial Director CE. This Community consists of Sales, CommOps, Services, Project Management and other resources and is responsible for all commercial activities in the region. While strongly embedded in the regional Commercial Community, the Commercial Operations team functionally reports through the Manager CommOps Europe & SSA to the regional CEO

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and assess our customers' requests for proposal and tenders
  • Lead virtual deal teams and coordinate the overall proposal development, with focus on the commercial aspects of the project incl. internal costing, in close cooperation and partnership with the Technical Leader, the Sales Account Manager and other functions like Legal, Commercial Finance, Risk Management and Project Management
  • Actively participate in the development of the commercial strategy for the deal, identify and capture value optimization opportunities and help to create pricing strategies
  • Present the proposal to the customer and take responsibility for drafting and negotiating the equipment and services contracts with our customers, incl. all terms and conditions and supporting documents, in English and German
  • Present proposal summaries incl. a commercial risk and mitigation plan to the risk review board (R-table) and obtain management approval for all critical items of each transaction
  • Manage advance releases and full manufacturing releases of projects to the project management department (OTR)
  • Frequent Business trips within the Region are to be foreseen

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge/experience
  • Enthusiasm for working with customers
  • Experience in negotiating terms and conditions
  • Strong process analysis, problem solving and strategy development skills
  • Good communication skills both in English and German and confidence with executive level presentations
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities simultaneously
  • Dedicated to details while keeping the bigger picture in mind
  • Professional attitude in challenging situations
  • Willingness and ability to travel

Desired Characteristics:

  • Proven leadership skills in virtual project teams
  • Experience in the wind energy sector
  • Fluency in one additional languages, preferably Dutch
  • Track record in negotiating multi-million Euro contracts
