PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Senior Reservoir Engineer is expected to be a technical leader within the Group’s reservoir engineering discipline, specifically in analytical tasks and dynamic reservoir modeling. You will be working in integrated subsurface teams, represent MOL in partner engagements and be part of our peer support group. Being based in the Headquarter you will be exposed to a large part of MOL’s growing international portfolio and advise Senior Management.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for supporting the subsurface study teams, and for delivering reservoir engineering solutions
  • Lead reservoir engineering activities for international operations and projects
  • Support field development studies including pre-simulation studies, dynamic reservoir model builds (both material balance and 3D numerical modeling), conceptual development planning (well counts, spacing, etc.), and production forecasting
  • Assist in drafting subsurface sections of Field Development Plans (FDPs)
  • Provide reservoir engineering support for core studies, and lead PVT analyses and associated studies
  • Provide occasional well test plans, ops office support, and well test analyses for development, exploration & appraisal wells
  • Provide support for business development assessments, as necessary
  • Assist with QA/QC of reservoir engineering deliverables, and technical assurance processes
  • Participate in reserve assessments in compliance with SPE guidelines & PRMS
  • Interfacing with partners at Technical Committee Meetings (TCM)
  • Ensures full collaboration and effective communication of Reservoir Engineering activities within the integrated project teams, and with the associated OpCos
  • Mentor junior staff, and assist with ensuring Reservoir Engineering excellence and best practices

Requirements

  • Degree in Petroleum Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years relevant experience in Reservoir Engineering
  • Experience with stage gate processes, development studies, field development plans and reserve management systems
  • Experience in both operated and non-operated environments
  • Experience in various EOR technologies from modelling to implementation
  • People leadership: proven track record in leading multidisciplinary study teams
  • An effective team player with drive, initiative, integrity, multi-cultural experience, and excellent communication skills
  • Fluent English
  • Basic petroleum economics
