SCOPE OF THE POSITION:

The main responsibility is to support the development of strategic and large projects for improving the Units, aligned with the MOL Group 2030 Strategy. Driving the right projects that either fit the strategic future vision or ensures improved efficiencies or licence to operate of current assets. Developing the right projects options and ensuring the technical scope matches the strategic end game. Requires strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Ensures a strong learning culture of improvement by implementing lessons learnt, developing best practices.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure, by adoption of modern technology processes, the competitiveness of products and technologies of the DS business;
  • Drive continuous improvement of technology development projects by ensuring lessons learnt are considered for each project and sharing best practice ways of working;
  • Drive the process for developing the Production Units by generating, capturing, and prioritising improvement proposals and transforming them into implementable projects. This should include contributing to the DS Roadmap, and coordinating and technically supporting strategic project development and Master Plan activities;
  • Technical leadership to help resolve complex problems;
  • Foster and maintain key stakeholder relationships. Strong presentation skills to communicate options, trade-offs and recommendations and obtaining buy-in and support for the projects;
  • Coach, counsel and supervise all direct reports and senior staff, and ensure the staff are motivated, and that personal and career development is completed;
  • Manages his/her organisation with ownership, ensures sustainable solutions and customer focused operation. Responsible for the development and succession of his/her subordinates;
  • Responsible for ensuring and controlling of compliance with the related legal and company rules - with special regard to the general regulations defining company operation: Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, rules of Conflict of Interest, HSE and Data Protection.

Requirements

  • Master degree in Chemical Engineering;
  • Good interpersonal skills and flexibility. Excellent collaboration and influencing skills. Result orientation;
  • Technical know-how to challenge projects;
  • Stakeholder management;
  • Strategic insights, leadership skills;
  • At least 10 years of refining and/or petrochemical experience;
  • Fluent English;
  • Basic Microsoft Office and SAP skills;
  • Driving license. Readiness to travel (30% of the time).
