The Resident Engineer will report to the Front End Engineering Director and will be responsible for ensuring the interfaces with the BD team as well as the technical quality and delivery of the offers and potentially the delivery of some projects.
Responsibilities will include:
Working in collaboration with the Commercial Director to provide technical leadership and support in discussions with the customer on site.
Understanding the customer’s technical requirements and leading technical discussions with subject matter experts in the Partners’ back-offices to determine the technical delivery approach for each Task request.
Developing the appropriate technical methodologies, processes and procedures for the engineering/project services (in collaboration with the Bid Teams located in Paris) and agreeing these with the customer.
Coordinating/participating to the production of the technical scope of work for the Task Offer.
Specifying and ensuring that the Task Order requirements are understood; resolving technical issues locally with the Client; collecting the required technical information, organizing site surveys, obtaining design data etc. for feeding back to the Bid or Task delivery teams.
Monitoring the technical and quality content of Bids and/or Task Orders, flagging up any important issues and bringing these to the attention of the Bid manager/Project Director for resolution.
Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to work within a multi-cultural environment.
A broad technical understanding of engineering and design relating to Engineering, Procurement and Construction of new-build power generating plants (preferably Nuclear Power Plants): infrastructure, balance of plant, architectural engineering, facilities, supporting systems and functions, associated quality system and project management structures.
An understanding of Nuclear Power Plants safety issues (experts in these fields will be available to support this).
The ability to network and collaborate with a range of subject matter experts both locally and remotely within the Assystem’s organisations and to help to build the technical teams required for the successful delivery of the services.
Candidates shall also be:
Comfortable in a customer-facing role, having an ability to form a close working relationship with technical representatives and develop their trust in the long-term.
Knowledgeable in the applicable engineering codes and standards for high integrity plant and equipment operating on a nuclear licensed site.
Knowledgeable in the applicable quality and safety procedures, ensuring strict compliance with these.
Able to write, documents, reports, MoM etc.
Fluent in English.
Able to interface with customer in Russian.
French and Finnish are a plus.
Site office based, but with regular site visits required to discuss and understand customer problems and requirements on the plant.
Flexibility and resourcefulness to find solutions and develop the technical capabilities.
Engineering degree and/or professional qualification from an internationally recognised institution or organisation.
8-10 years minimum experience in Technical management roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior role in nuclear sector.
