Position Description

ESB Energy wish to recruit an experienced Head of Customer & Product Strategy to handle product development, product strategy, customer insights and other strategy campaigns for the GB supply business. ESB Energy aims to be a customer centric, agile and fast-moving energy provider and this role is core in achieving the organisations customer growth and sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating customer segmentation models to support Acquisition and Retention;
  • Development of relevant energy tariff, products and services - full lifecycle product management;
  • Leading the business in relation to driving innovation and delivering new product/service offerings to the GB market;
  • Deciding target markets for relevant products through analytics and insights;
  • Using customer insights, feed into pricing of products and services including discounting, customer incentives, execution and governance;
  • Liaising with the Sales, Marketing, Operations & Regulatory teams to ensure that all products are launched, sold and managed efficiently and effectively;
  • Optimising our data analytics capabilities to set KPI’s and develop market insight using data from multiple sources;
  • Monitor and report on energy market trends in other markets;
  • Monitor and report on GB competitors;
  • Reviewing trends and best practice in non-energy sectors that maybe relevant and applicable to the GB Supply business and the retail energy market;
  • Develop new or existing product strategies from conception to implementation, and solution design aligned with customer needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years GB energy retail market knowledge or equivalent;
  • Understanding of energy consumer trends and competitive landscape;
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate and influence multiple teams;
  • Experience of working in high-performing teams and engaging multiple stakeholders;
  • Track record of delivering projects;
  • Demonstrated success in development of new or existing product strategies from conception to implementation, and solution design aligned with customer needs;
  • Comfortable delivering presentations and reports for senior stakeholders;
  • Strong analytical, numerical and strategic problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to think creatively and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the commercial costs and drivers related to energy pricing in GB.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A relevant 3rd level qualification/university degree or equivalent work experience is essential.

Location

The role is based in Manchester and with travel to Dublin, Ireland.

Reporting to

The successful candidate will report to the Sales & Marketing Manager, ESB Energy.
