Are you ready to enhance and support the overall safety performance from an international perspective?

MHI Vestas Offshore Wind is looking for an HSE Coordinator to join our HSE team located at our facility in Hartlepool, United Kingdom. You will work on the implementation of Safe Systems of Work and communicate directly with site personnel and our client in regards to safety awareness and improvement of safety standards. In this position you will work on rotation (2 weeks on/2 weeks off)

Tasks & responsibilities: You will…

…ensure that Health, Safety & Environment procedures are communicated and followed within the team working on the Able Seaton Pre Assembly site. As the HSE Coordinator, you will provide HSE support to site/facility management during Toolbox Talks, internal and external HSE inspections and meetings. It will also be your responsibility to report incidents and support the management in managing these incidents and taking the necessary corrective/preventive actions.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Collect, validate and respond to HSE data
  • Ensure compliance to HSE legislations working closely together with your UK HSE colleague
  • To review, and revise when required, documents in support of the HSE Management System
  • Ensure close collaboration with our customers and other stakeholders on HSE matters
  • Support and advise to local management on HSE matters
  • Ensure that Emergency Response Plans are established and maintained
  • Ensure that emergency drills are performed according to our management system
  • Continuously review the company Safe Systems of Work in order to deliver improvement
  • Provide coaching to personnel to raise HSE awareness and improve the HSE culture
  • Conduct contractor reviews as required
  • Carry out site inspections and audits

You thrive in a role with a broad range of stakeholders and are a flexible and motivated team player with a structured and systematic approach to your tasks. You take ownership and responsibility of your tasks and act as a safety role model.

We prefer that you:

  • Have at least 3 years’ experience from similar type role.
  • Have experience with HSE policies
  • Have good IT skills, especially Microsoft Office, and the ability to quickly understand new systems.
  • Have knowledge of Risk Assessment practices, COSHH and the implementation of appropriate control processes
  • Have CDM knowledge
  • Are able to interpret legislation wording and convert this to useful local procedures.
  • Have wind industry experience
  • Hold a relevant education within HSE,
  • You must have good English skills and be an excellent communicator
